Bangladesh is considered the next offshore IT outsourcing destination. Bangladeshi IT companies are exporting ITES services, Application Development, Graphic Design, Search Optimization – SEO, Website design and Development services in Canada, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany, USA.

I am from Bangladesh and it would indeed be a very good news, if true. I know that the lack of proper grip on English language among our people after the liberation of Bangladesh in 1971 has been the main cause that we are living in a pond and India is winning the hearts and minds of whole world by their education, good hold on English language and also their progress in economic and industrial sector made them a good candidate for the “offshore IT outsourcing destination”. Pakistan in much better position than Bangladesh could not reap the benefit due to their internal problems. Bangladesh can make any headway only when our next generation gets proper education and also exposure to English language in mass scale, not limited to some English medium schools and colleges.
If your question has been framed in the disguise to promote your own firm or company, then I have nothing to say about it. But that would be tantamount to violation of the Terms & Conditions of Y!A. This I am saying now because I don’t see any tangible proof that “Bangladesh is the next offshore IT outsourcing destination” that was propagated by our present government when they wanted to come to power in the last general election. We can hardly run our computers for two to three hours at a stretch without having to face load-shedding and allied problems. And we are dreaming for becoming Bangladesh as the next offshore IT outsourcing destination.

outsourcing means you have a $ 10,000 project that you could do – BUT you know another company down the street that will do it for $ 6,000 – so you get them to do it for 6 and you keep the 4 when you charge your client $ 10,000
offshore – is when your techs work in INDIA, because they will work for $ 10/ hr – and your long distance bill is the same as a
WATS line in the states – so you save $ 10-15 /hr tech fees
